Xion (he has no official last name, though he will refer to himself as Xion of Heredes — the place he comes from — from time to time) is one of the six main characters from my novel, as such I wanted to try and visualize her in order to help me whilst writing the story.
Xion is the most mysterious of the group. He will happily take the non-violent route when presented to him, and while it may appear that he is more of a diplomat than anything, he can most definitely defend himself if needed. His most valuable possession is his hat; no one may touch it.
I knew Xion was going to be wearing lots of black clothing. In fact, make that almost exclusively black clothing. I had to think long and hard about how to present that in a way that would 1) make sense, and 2) would be cool (to look at).
I think I struck a decent balance here. The main trick, I found, was to not resort to pure black (#000000) as a base colour, as it would make adding shading impossible.
All in all I think I did an okay job conveying Xion’s mysteriousness, but I’ll let you be the judge of that. See the gallery below for an impression.
